GR11 Day 11 Long Walk in the Woods
Ochagavia to the gardens of the Sanctuario de Nuestra Senora de Idoia.
Boring Boring Boring, although easy walking for people with bad backs, for 20 km we follow gravel tracks through a pine forest. It's raining, it's cold, it's just a slog. We entertain each other by playing the ABC game, name a vegetable beginning with A, Name a country beginning with x, it passes the time. Eventually the woods clear and we have open views of, well, cloud. The weather matches our spirits, damp and depressed. We descend down again into the woods, coming out at the little chapel, which we decide will be home for the night.
Ian, and the two American/ Germans also arrive so we spend the afternoon chasing small patches of sun around to warm up and chatting.
Things I have learnt:
I have had enough of forests, especially pine forests.
Spain is not warm, it's frigging freezing.
I can't think of any vegetable that begins with the letter I.
