Tut tut... Tuk tuk!
Finally we are off on another adventure. A window of opportunity appeared for a month away and we decided upon Thailand. Cheap, hot and sunny so it fitted perfectly from deciding the destination to flying out it was less than 72 hours so it was all a bit of a rush. How hard could it be ? So with backpacks ready and a few guide books we headed out. Straight into the chaos of Bangkok (after a very long flight that is) and into the hands of this rouge Tuk Tuk driver. Yes we asked for the Grand Palace and yes ended up at the river front and dodgy boat cruises instead. Probably the same place as every tourist does on their first day. He was not a happy man when he realised we would not be contributing to his commission. So instead he tried to fleece us for way more than he should have charged and then plead that he had no change. Standing our ground he finally relinquished to open up his wallet that had more money in it than ours! He was loaded. So like most tourists we used a Tuk Tuk once and after that it was walk it or taxis. Taxis we realised whilst not as much fun charged considerably less, were air conditioned and most importantly did not choke you with the acrid smog in the city oh and try to kill you!
